There are no perfect parents, perfect children or perfect people. We can only do our best, and we all

need help once in a while.

  • Nobody's Perfect Parenting Program Overview

    The Nobody’s Perfect parenting program aims to improve participants’ capabilities to improve and maintain the health of their children (aged 0-5 years).

    It is a Canadian best practice, with clear measured impacts on positive parenting which can be readily adapted internationally to other cultures.

    The objectives are to:

    promote positive parenting;

    increase parents’ understanding of children’s health, safety and behaviour;

    help parents build on the skills they have and learn new ones;

    improve parents’ self-esteem and coping skills;

    increase self-help and mutual support, and;

    bring parents in contact with community services and resources.

    The NL NPPP Provincial Steering Committee (NPPPSC) was established to provide guidance and support to provincially based NPPP Master Trainers, Trainers, and Facilitators. The Steering Committee is governed by the following:

    Purpose

    The primary purpose of the NPPPSC is to support the program and Nobody’s Perfect Facilitators, Trainers, and Master Trainers throughout the province. When requested, the NPPPSC will also provide feedback, grounded in the Nobody’s Perfect philosophy, on areas related to parenting and family development.

    NPPPSC will develop training guidelines, based on national NPPP standards developed and maintained by the Public Health Agency of Canada. The NPPPSC guidelines will provide a quality assurance framework for Master Trainers, Trainers, and Facilitators.
